The club ‘Concerts at the European Foyer’ was established in 1996 by the governing body of the Cultural Cercle of the European Institutions in Luxembourg. The objective was and remains to organise high-quality concerts of ‘classical’ music, including contemporary, at an international level. Since its inception, the club has hosted hundreds of internationally renowned musicians from Europe and other parts of the world.
Most guest musicians do not perform elsewhere in Luxembourg. Thus, the club ensures a certain exclusivity, differentiates itself from other concert organisers and contributes to the richness and diversity of the country's cultural life. Occasionally, the club organises concerts for young talent and participates as a partner in various musical projects in Luxembourg.
The dozen or so concerts per season usually take place in the Adenauer room on the first floor of the Foyer, in an intimate atmosphere, which perpetuates the tradition of 19th century musical salons and allows direct and close contact with the artists.
Several concerts have been recorded and CDs of selected parts produced under the title ‘Musical Moments’. These discs are available online. You can find excerpts and other useful information on this page.
